Photographer’s Note

Don't even think of suggesting that I should have erased the wires in post-processing. If you take away the wires from Vietnamese towns there won't be much left. This is from Ho Chi Minh City (by most inhabitants still generally known as Sài Gòn), where the wires often become the main focus of the cityscape.

Gert, I don't think that wires should ever be erased, they are part of the scene and need to be recorded as much as the people and the motorbikes. Nice color and detail but for the sky area that is washed out, but I imagine there was not much to be done for that in this tropical world.

Hej Gert,
Your so wright about the wires,and mostly II think we should keep wires there if they are there or even try to use them more as an element in the composition. one think that surprises me is the in most of south east asian towns the electricity systems look like this, but coming to Malaysia it suddenly disappears, literary going underground and that shapes a total different expressions of the towns.

Hi Gert,
Interesting daily life scene. Foreground scooters are well placed and give a good idea of fast paced action. And the jungle of wires is mind-boggling. I guess they've been added one by one without resources or time to redesign the system.

He he, some people are erasing the electric wires in their photos but often I like them a lot, they are an integral part of the photo and certainly a great asset for this photo ! superb, also for the traffic and the architecture, really an interesting daily life scene !

This is an excellent picture that presses us to make a decision which the scenery or the cost we should choose, anyway it seems too difficult to maintain.
