Nothing Wasted

A small silk factory in a small village between Hoi An and DaNang with about a dozen people working there. The factory itself is very hot and very humid due to the nature of the silk processing.
On the right a wood powered furnace that supplies power and heat for the processing. On the far left the silk worms in thier cocoons are dropped in hot water and attached to octagonal wheels by a thread which removes the silk from the worms as the wheels spin.
Once full the wheels are brought forward and atached to bigger wheel's by a thread, these wheels spin over hot coals to dry the silk.
The hot coals, the remains of the furnace fuel from the right. The remains of the worms are collected in buckets and sent to food processing factories.

What an interesting shot, with a great note to go with it.
The composition, capturing all parts of this little silk factory is good. I am not too keen on the blurry picture caused by the 1/4s exposure, but it adds a certain feeling to the shot which does seem to work.
Regards, casper
Andy: sometimes I to look at the image and then guess the camera. It seems Nikon has the cake for colour realism but I was fooled here. A nice eye for this shot - perhaps a bit soft for my taste. Great note. regards, c
