It's easy to understand why Vietnam’s Halong Bay is taking the lead in the selection for seven natural wonders of the world.

You had a great haze-free day there, Xavier! The light is quite nice, and I like your composition using the roof of the cave. There are a couple of things I think would make this better, though. FIrst, I think you should show the whole boat, not just the masts and rigging which make it look cut off. Second, there's a sharpening halo around the edge of the cave. Still, the overall look is very nice! Regards, Ken.

Hi, Xavier -

It is a lovely shot, but I have to agree with Ken - waiting for the whole boat to appear, positioned in front of the gap in the rocks, would have made a better picture. Aside from showing the boat, it would have shifted the balance.

Still, it is a good composition, and great handling of the light.

Happy 2008,
Dan

Good composition. Clear picture.
Beautiful colours.
