Photographer’s Note
I took this photo in October, in Ho Chi Minh City, during my first trip to Vietnam.
One of the most amazing things I found about the city was the number of mopeds on the streets.
The city has a population of 9 million and it felt like everyone has a moped - although the figure is actually 3 million, with 500,000 automobiles. The Ho Chi Minh City Metro is planned for completion in 2020.
The man at the side of the road caught my eye, because with all the fast moving traffic going by, he seemed almost motionless.
I have upload a video to Youtube showing the scene:-
Mopeds in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Hi Andrew, you've really caught the mood of the place as I imagine it, and I like the arrangement with the guy on the left looking at the stream of bikes.
Have a good Christmas, and, ps. I'll be back in HK on 15th Jan, hope we can fit in another drink somewhere.

Asian city streets are so full of life and people. If you're new to the city, I don't admire your task of having cross one of those streets, though. :)
This is a wonderful composition with one person facing the opposite direction as all the traffic. It really adds to the sense of motion of the shot.
