I'm so used to seeing these scenes in bright irridescent green that seeing this in black and white makes quite a refreshing change. It allows us to concentrate on the shapes of the landscape without the distraction of colour.
Personally I think it would have worked better if you'd shifted the framing down slightly, showing less of the hillside in the background and leaving more space between the man and the bottom edge of the frame. Perhaps you could also have used the diagonal lines of the terraces to lead in from the left corner, although that would have shifted the house to a more central position, so you probably made the best choice in leaving it where it was.
Cheers,
Ben

Bonjour Wanda,
Incroyable cette multitude de terrasses ! Une vue très graphique qui nous donne envie de découvrir ce pays. Merci.

Hi Wanda,
lovely patterns in black&white. Is there any piece of the hills not used for the rice fields? Excellent POV to show us this extensive usage and well done in b&w to reduce the content to this.

This is a very good B&W picture with all the contrast between the different elements in the foreground. The size of that man simply adds to the vastness of the landscape. Well done.

Hi Wanda,
Good idea to convert to B&W,good POV and framing of these nice terraced field patterns and fine placement of the hut in the frame. The more contraste FG stands out nicely on the brighter BG
Well seen

Hi Wanda,
the view of all these rice terraces is fantastic and I remember it very well. I see that also the b/w format works very well here, giving the sensation of an old-timed photo. Well done!
Tfs and best regards.

Hello Wanda,
those terraces are fantastic. It's the first time I see someone who has the idea of showing them in B/W. Usually it's all green. Here, colors are not a distraction, we can concentrate on the curvy shapes.
this Tri-x film is crazy with the contrasts and the grain!! I like it!
Have a nice day,
Marc

Hi Wanda!
This is a theme photographed so many times but your aproach is very original, mainly because of your b&w choice. Excellent POV and composition! Congratulations!

The treatment B&W lack a little bit of contrast, on the background for me ;)

This really works well in B&W Wanda. Lovely textures and shapes on the far hill create almost an abstract effect, while the house and the man remind us it's a real scene. Well done, I really like it.

Beautiful tones here, Wanda, relatively low-contrast to create a hazy tropical mood. The framing is ideal, with the person at the bottom to provide scale and humanity. Great textures in the farmhouse, the plants and the soil. And you've really shown us how every inch of hillside gets used. Regards, Ken.

Hello Wanda
Lovely crisp black and white foreground and enough definition in the greys of the background for us to appreciate the details of the landscape.
I think I agree with Ben that a little more foreground could have been included below the figure of the man, but your composition is still very effective.
I would love to see these terraces with their serpentine curves.
Best wishes Maggie
