Photographer’s Note

A Highland of Northern Vietnam there are many ethnic groups live together. They usually get married in early ages before legally being adult dispite the government policy.
The photo shows that a pretty Flower H'mong woman is giving her baby the breast near the Sunday market. She was only 17 years old and already became a mother of a son...
Anyhow she is just beautiful, isn't she?

JS: aren't the very pleasant people? I think the Flower H'Mong and the Black are some of the favorite folks I've met in SE Asia. A really warming portrait, though maybe you got her at an awkward moment. best, c

Hi, A very warm shot of this colourful woman. Echoing cyrrhus, I think her face is slightly OOF. I tried sharpending it a bit but it became too obvious on the bright bands of colour on her sleeves before her eyes were sharp. You may get a good result doing the sharpening just on her face. PS : If you haven't done so, I advice you to use a (slight) sharpening filter after having subsampled to 800 pixels. I put the result in a WS using PaintShopPro.

Beautiful shot! The mother and baby look happy and relaxed. I like the portrait format. I do think it would benefit from some sharpening as the workshop shows. Otherwise, it's very nice!

Très joli modèle au sourire superbe avec un costume magnifique. Deux petits regrets pour moi ; le haut de la tête du bébé coupée et surtout la mise au point que tu aurais dû faire sur le visage de la mère et non sur le costume.

She is cute. Her smile makes the picture. Thank you for including the terraced fields to the background. I knew it's hard to capture such a combination in Bac Ha.

There is such joy on this beautiful girl's face. This is a lovely portrait; I like the pose you captured as she tenderly feeds her baby. Her clothes are wonderful, too. I am adding this photo to my theme. :-)
