Photographer’s Note
All the advice in travel photography books is to get up early because the light is better - take note because the advice is good.
In Mui Ne from 6 - 8am the sea was calm and the sky interesting, and with the fishing fleet unloading the night's catch the beach full of movement. But by 10am the sun had burnt the clouds away, the wind was strong enough to please the windsurfers, and fishermen and photographers were enjoying their first coffee!
Adjusted levels, cropped and sharpened.

Brian: Yes, I remember this tree. Great composition - a little polarization wouldn't hurt. It's a very bright image. best, c

Hi Brian - Powerful and pretty compo using this lovely weird tree, good idea to get up early so as to include that nice busy sky; the person (another early bird) and the reflection are really good and give the scale; excellent shot, TFS! Daniel

Hi Brian,
I totally agree with your advice :)
Excellent use of the diagonal, good perspective.
Very good that you've waited a man with a classical conical hat.

Hi Brian,
Amazing shot and a good advice too. You have the perfect elements for the perfect photo, not just some boring 100000 times seen palm and the ocean in front, this is really good. The man fits in great.
All the best,
Gordana.

Nice POV and wide angle Brian. Composition is perfect with the figure in the conical hat walking by. A telltale definitive sign of the country without even realizing it. I thought this was a Caribbean, Seychelles or some tropical island shot until I saw that hat. Colors are good also.
Great work.

Lovely shot. Extremely subtle colours. Interesting angle for the tree and a wonderful sky. The man in the shot adds scale. Excellent. Paul.
PS - According to one travel guide I wrote, more people are killed and injured on holiday by falling coconuts than are attacked by sharks. I hope this is correct, 'cos me and my (soon to be) missus are off to the Maldives soon on honeymoon and to do a PADI open water course!!
