Photographer’s Note

This photo is taken in red sand dunes of Mui Ne.
To be honest, visiting the sand dunes can be a bit exchausting. First of all... our (I was there with 3 friends) original idea was just to take some photos and to look around and not to engage in sand-sliding or buy anything else.

When we arrived there with motorbikes we were immediately surrounded by about 20 children, all of them shouting "What's your name?", "How old are you?" (followed by "Oh, you look so young and strong") and other compliments", "My name John, remember me!" etc
"Wanna slide, mister?" was the thing they shouted most.

So basically, the moment you arrive near the dunes you are surrounded by kids who want to make you their customer. Which is fine.
What is not so nice is that they are competing with each other - obviously you cannot ride with all of them and whether you like it or not you have to choose somebody instead of somebody else to give your couple of dollars to. Also what can be annoying is that when you really don't want to slide, you just want to look around, it is not possible - the kids just keep following you and selling their service. Another slightly annoying aspect with their service is that they don't want to negotiate the price before you make the slide. Thay just say "you pay what you like" and it does not matter if you tell them clearly that for one slide you are going to pay for example 1 dollar - later, when you have had your slide, it is not enough :) And they keep asking 15 dollars and 50 dollars and so on :)
The last annoying aspect is that when we thought that well, we'll do the slide to get rid of them so that we could take some photos in peace and quiet, it does not work that way either. Then they want you to take one more slide or a "different slide" or at least they could "show you the way" to take a photo :)

But overall - it was the first time for me to slide down a sand dune and it was fun.

On this photo, one "John" is bugging my friend - "Wanna slide, mister?"

Postprocessing: crop, slight adjustment to levels, resize, added frame.
