Photographer’s Note
A Black H'Mong girl in a small village in beautiful Lao Chai valley near Sa Pa.
She was with her friends - couple of kids ... and a hundred expressions in 5 minutes.
That's the one I captured.
no cropping, conversion to B&W

Great shot Maciek. I love her face. I reead what Luko told you at one point. But still I love those close up very much.
We can feel you like those children.
By the way, i saw that you bought the 70/200 canon... How is it??

Great serenity on this face. I love the grain of the skin you capture.
DOF and use of sepia works splendid on this shot to my mind.

très belle prise de vue, cadrage qui renforce l'émotion de la fillettte, le traitement noir blanc aussi renforce toute l'inquiétude de son visage

Very nice. The B&W works well with the subject. I really like her expression as it looks to be timeless. I also like the fact that the background looks nice and plain. Good job!

What I like about this pic most of all is the girl's expression. Sometimes (and I am often guilty of this) we look to find the joy of childhood in an expression. Here we encounter something else - a thought old than the eyes perhaps.
As everybody says - B&W works well here, as does the grain which adds to the immediacy of the image.

This portrait is full of emotions and the process with sepia and grain is really perfect for this subject.
I really like this one very much, congratulations and thank you, Maciej !

This is a nice BW picture. Maciek, like Clod, I think you are excelling very well in tight portraits. Keep it up! Your composition and DOF here is well-seen. Good decision to turn it into a sepia. Very good work.

Love her expression in this one. She is very aware of you taking her picture. It looks like a picture of the past. Very nice indeed!

Znowu b&w (czy może już sepia?). Super portret Maciek, bardzo mi się podoba. Delikatne ziarno daje fajny klimat.
Pozdrawiam!

Nice work here, seems over exposed but the subject isnt and thats what makes the pictrure.
She seems depressed about something. great grainy shot too

Good shot Maciek. Good conversion to B&W as well. Is the grain from the camera, or added later? Good shot, I really don't have much to add or contribute really.

Wonderful portrait with a well balanced framing. The warm tone B&W is great. but the best thing is her expression of deep thoughts or maybe sadness.

She look young and than again a bit old. The expression that you caught is priceless. I my self love the tight, cut compo.
Great one

Another brilliant portrait Maciek. I like the softness in the girls expression, its very soothing to look at. Great tonal range and shallow DOF is perfect for this shot. Excellent

Great portrait. I have lost before. The expression you have captured here is great for a photo, but so sad for the soul. Very well cropped, and the light, getting a god gamma of grays. The difficult here is don't loss the face with the deep, because the both are white. I like very much and I hope you understand my english.

So nice Maciej. I love the expression and the framing is very good. I thought for a while the door in the background is too distracting but i think it's eventually fine.
