The karst formation of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in Vietnam has evolved for 400 million years ago and is the oldest major karst area in Asia. The vast area of the formation extends to the border of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and contains spectacular formations including 65 km of caves and underground rivers. Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This is a photo of one such cave that is reached through an underwater river. |
