A nice presentation of military color and pomp. I would have liked a little more space in front of the soldiers and maybe even cropping out the feet of the following rank.

Hi Mark.
Simple but good. I like this simplicity and the composition. Also you had a good light and I like the scene captured.
Regards.

There are several cool things in this deceptively straight forward "marching soldiers in front of the Old Citadel" pic:
1. The recurring REDs
2. the second rank of marching legs
3. The two flags.
All in all extremely harmonius and well thougyt out. Good work!

Love the all the triangles here, the aggresisves shapes (picks, angles) and the few spots of red colors over the overall greenish colors and yes the follower are there and will fit into the frame soon.
I wish I could get the top of the flag in the background.
Thanks, Alain -

Francis mentioned the flags. Ill go a bit further and say that what I actually like is how they mirror each other by going in the opposite directions. The second row of legs is one of those little details that just makes a shot so much more. These sorts of details are what makes Magnum shots so compelling. To be honest this one for me is the best one you have ever uploaded to TE.

Hi Mark,
Well..I seem to be going against the grain again.
I don't know all that much about photography, but I feel there is something missing for me. I think the right side is a little close to the frame. But saying this, I love the balance of everything that is going on on that side. there are some really nice shapes allover. I also like the incoming legs on the left.
The more I look at it, the more I like it for its organised layout...I also think the exposure is really nice. The sporadic red is quite cool.

Hi Mark,
Nice one! Very nice composition. i like the way how you crop the legs on the left and the look the soldiers have on the right. it was really suprising that they let you took pictures.

Hi Mark,
the way you crop the picture is just perfect. I really enjoy watching it. And the title... couldn't be better. It's a pity that (as I see) the weather (light) conditions weren't too good.

Go along with Francis here on all points except, well nothing really. The legs coming into shot is very good as it is humourous on what is serious parade. Don't worry, won't give you back slaps where they are not deserved. Nice work Mark.

Mark
