Photographer’s Note
Image took over the La Nga river, full of floating houses.
It's located on the road between Saigon and Dalat, in the Binh Thuan Province, around 150 km north of the capital.

The River That Runs With Love Won't Run Dry
Oh My Father He Was Born Beneath The Water
And My Mother She Was Born To No One's Daughter
And I, I Was Born Beneath The Dying Sun
Born From The Mouth Of A River That Would Not Run Dry
La La La La La La La La La Lie
La La La La La La La La La Lie
Oh The River That Runs With Love It Won't Run Dry
La La La La La La La La La Lie
Well I Awoke This Morning In The Blackest Night
And A Million Stars Were Aching In The Sullen Sky
And I Heard The Great Machines As They Bled And Cried
And I Saw The End Of The World, I Had No Question Why
La La La La La La La La La Lie
La La La La La La La La La Lie
Hold On To The One You Love And Kiss Her Before She
Dies
Oh The River That Runs With Love It Won't Run Dry
Oh My Father Made The Water When He Cried
But The River That Runs With Love It Won't Run Dry
And The Sun Will Burn A Hole In The Purple Sky
But The River That Runs With Love It Won't Run Dry

Hi Paolo,
I know this song of this famous but now forgotten band (Swans). I like especially soft tones of B&W. I would prefer more river with huts than sky on this picture. But it's only my opinion.
regards.

Ciao Paolo,
Such an invasion of sepia, are you in a nostalgic mood these days ?
Nice curvy perspective of the river, looks quite busy on the sides, the clouds give a good 3d effect.
Have a nice day,

Bonjourno Paolo
I like the high pov & green sepia tones. The 's' curve of the river is marvellous. Well done!

Hi Paolo:
Thanks for your great picture.
It's a shame that I have never been successful in tracking down the accurate location of this scene over La Nga River in the past. Yours is the second photo of the same capture after the first one I saw several year ago.
I also located an account of the La Nga Bridge but again, I love to come to the floating village along the two banks of the river.
Could you please help giving me more direction on how to start off the National Route 20 from Saigon to Dalat? I know the location is before Dinh Quan, but from NR20, should I go upstream or downstream?
Thanks,
Thanh

Paolo, the image reminds me of the movie 'Apocalipse Now'... I know is not Vietnam or about war... crap, just read the note: it is Vietnam!! Tothe point, I like the feeling of old times you have giving it with the sepia tone. Very good job, my frend.
Un saludo,
Enrique

Hi Paolo,
A superb view of this river scene which works well in sepia. The eye is drawn by the various vessels and structures lining the riverbanks. The clarity of detail is good. Most of all, the well textured sky overwhelms and I like the DOF. A very impressive shot, much like an old fashioned postcard.

paolo,
like the mood created here by your color scheme. good composition with the elements and like the way how the clouds draw our attention to the river below.

Hi Paolo,
I like the ideia of sepia on this picture, is creative for this kind of shot and it works very well. I'm a fan of old look photos...The POV is very good and I love the sky's caramel color. Just find it a little to much sky, otherwise is a good comosition and it has a very good depht.
Best Regards,
Flavia

I'm going back a bit, Paolo, to this beautiful scene of the winding Viet river: it rings very true to me this picture, and I can sense the heat. I flew from Dalat to Saigon, but I hear it's a heck of a nice drive, through ex plantations, rubber, etc, and this river here.
I like the tones you chose too. Maybe a touch more sharpness would be nice but hey, scans and all that...
Best wishes,
Francis
