Neon Madonna II

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This was taken just as I was leaving. Didn't think too much about it at the time, but now I see that it shows an evolution of the ways we have used artificial light in connection with worship. Is it wrong to apply such a high and mighty meaning to an image if it wasn't in your head when you made it?
I have touched this up quite a bit for me. I selected the stained glass portions of the windows and boosted saturation by 30%, then selected the archways and boosted them by 25%. Then used the smudgy finger to smooth out some artifacts of this boost. Also burned the shadows on the stained glass madonnas face to make it more visile. |

I like the colors of the stained glass and your exposure of the artificial light of the candles. Very well shot!
This is sooo weird. I never imagined Our Lady of Neon. I like how the stained glass windows are visible but without any over exposure. The stained glass contrasts well with the neon in theme and color.
well..... it is neither right nor wrong...... nicer in my veiw not using neon..... but they can do anythng they please, why not? The light does have a nice shape around the Virgin Mary. Indian Catholic churches have all sorts f things ot found in western Catholic churches, but it is what is in the heart that counts! The buildings and practices change with the culture and time....
