Photographer's Note

Not so rare sight in Vietnam during the dry season: Huge areas of forests burning and causing smoke and ash to rise up into the air. As I was driving through southern Vietnam by motorbike, the ash was floating into my eyes, mouth, lungs, everywhere. It is a disaster for these people living and working in the area.

The road I was driving was called Highway 28. At times, I couldn't drive faster than 10 km/h because the road condition just didn't allow me to drive faster. Well anyway, that wasn't really a problem because the landscape was so beautiful that driving 100 kph wouldn't really do justice for such an awesome mountain scenery. And just look at that red sand!
