[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
a fascinating city, hanoi, one of the most vibrant capitals in sea. i wandered its streets for days (despite a fractured toe), but couldn't get enough. something happening on every corner, the people, the colours, the smells... a photographers paradise. i'll try to upload some more later.

leaving for hong kong on saturday, planning to spend 2-3 days, if you have any advice on what to visit i'd greatly appreciate it. and if you're in town let me know, i'd be happy to meet up with you.

Hey Mark,

you, just like PeterC are a guy that left Korea and became a fantastic photographer. I love how you capture the colors and mood of SE Asia. Im hoping to see more of your work on TE. I like the exoticism of this scene, that hat just makes this shot zing.

Hello Mark,

perfect capture of a local life in Vietnam. Very well balanced in terms of composition and strong in colors. Sharpness is faultless.

Thanks for Sharing,

Sarhan.

Hello Mark,

Good composition with beautiful colors, good sharpness. I like all the details of the picture.

Regards,
Stéphanie.

Hi Mark,
Great daily life scene... the whole thing is a little cluttered, but as I was explaining to a friend today is not always a bad thing, and sometimes is even a good thing. It certainly doesn't hurt here.
What I find a little odd is the position of the woman in the frame, I guess it would be usual to have some open space in front of her. But again, I really don't think it matters.
I like this because it really shows something, so thanks for sharing it!
Lewis.

Hello Mark, great shot! a typical secen from Vietnam, i think. glad to see it. very nice colors this time. look forward to see the shots from Hong kong.

This could be from a movie, Mark, so well seen and composed, very beautiful composition. A real slice of Hanoi life, am sure. Amazing what these tiny, beautiful slender women can balance on their shoulders. A strong, beautiful work, perfectly timed and composed!

Fascinating mix of colours, people and items in this frame--you've managed to produce an engaging portrait of the street by arranging these things cleverly within the frame; difficult to achieve in the chaos of a busy street. Really like this one.

Hong Kong wise (was just there too), some of the small islands are interesting if you want to get away from the towers of Kowloon and the island; much more laid back, ordinary folk going about their business (saw an entire wharf of Heinekien beer to supply all the restaurants and shops in town on one island!)

Splendid work, Mark. Quick AND patient eye...These scenes abound in the old quarter of Hanoi but your skill was in the managing of the diverse elements into thsi very dynamic whole, something about the opposition of the Pho noodle seller exiting to the right and the biker in the white T-shirt leaving through the back.
First rate!
Francis

Excellent street scene reportage'. Tells a story.

Hi Mark. This 'IS' South East Asia. Exactly that. All in one picture: colours, people, action, details (the ring on the right-hand side man, the handkerchief on the lady's face, the fresh herbs in the basket...). Super good job. Too bad I'm getting to your picture so late: I live in HK and would have enjoyed meeting with you, or giving you some advice. Cheers, --amz
