Photographer’s Note

We rested 5 days in Nha Trang, THE beach of Vietnam.
In the '98 Nha Trang was in a construction boom period, many men at works, some sckyscrapers under construction in front of the sea, too much traffic jam, and, the biggest problem, too many jellyfish in the water.
So we rented a motorbike and went away to explore the closest coastline.
We visited the Unesco site of My Son Sanctuary, a wonderful place in the forest full of Champa ruins.
The day after we read on the Lonely Planet about the white sandy beach of Doc Let, 45 km north of Nha Trang.
Doc Let is a beach, nothing more. in the 98 there was only one small restaurant/bar in more than 12 km of beach!
Of course the beach was completely empty, there were no one. no one!
We were in 8 people, all knew in Saigon in the first days of holidays, a couple of Roma, one of Utrecht and one of Oslo.
We had fantastic good time in that long white beach, with a good sea with high wavesm strong wind and a fantastic shadow area under the palms, drinking cocoonut milk and fresh Saigon Beer!

Cure For Pain

Where is the ritual
And tell me where where is the taste
Where is the sacrifice
And tell me where where is the faith
Someday there'll be a cure for pain
That's the day I throw my drugs away
When they find a cure for pain
Where is the cave
Where the wise woman went
And tell me where
Where's all that money that I spent
I propose a toast to my self control
You see it crawling helpless on the floor
Someday there'll be a cure for pain
That's the day I throw my drugs away
When they find a cure for pain
When they find a cure for pain
When they find a cure find a cure for pain
