Photographer’s Note
A visit to the perfume pagoda is very special. It starts with a tranquil boat ride along Yen River which really is part of the meditation as well.
The sound of the water as the rowing boat moves slowly along is very meditative and the environment is very special with its impressive rocks surrounding you – even if you are there on misty days as I was.
When you get out of the boat, you walk along an alley of restaurants before you start the pilgrimage of a 3 hours climb. The pagoda itself is situated on the flank of the hills.
This lady was waiting to feed hungry pilgrims at her little food stall.
Her modest means of some vegetables, noodles, some chicken and its eggs, and a few beers is all one needs to cook an excellent meal.
But the world turns past her. Caught up in thoughts and hopes, she is waiting for a hungry soul.
As I was taking this photograph, I wanted to join her and taste her cuisine but for now, she slowly dreams the minutes away, until then …

Dag Sabine,
Mooi werkje.
prettig (lang) weekend,
Luc.

Hi Sabine,
Everybody here is in search for spiritual food right now, no need for anything else. ...Actually, the ignored food on the table seems to accentuate the religious emotion, and even the woman seems to join everyone else's feelings.
Bien vu! ;-)

Bonjour Sabine,

this is really beautiful composition Sabine,
there's also something really deep caught in her eyes and her look.
I like the direction that is suggested both by her look and the composition of all other elements.

Bonjour Sabine,

Wow, Sabine, what a shot-- it is a work of art, with a superb depth of field, marvellously rich colours, artful composition, and a great note... what a beautiful woman, waiting for the hungry pilgrims...
Here we do not even have pilgrims.
Congratulations, Sabine! A wonderful capture!
