Sapa is a mountain town, high in the foothills of Mount Fansipan, Vietnams' tallest peak, at over 9,000 feet. This region is sometimes called the Tonkinese Alps. The clouds are constantly shifting & changing. Wait 5 minutes, & this entire scene would have changed.

Hi Chris,
Exactly a almost a burn about Sapa, a cool atmosphere with the low clouds, a pity for the white part in the sky, but I find the picture very well.
Best regards,
John.

Wonderful mood in this shot. I like the way the fog and mist is thin in the front and gets gradually thicker toward the valley. Your note says that the clouds are always shifting, and your photo conveys this well. Good work!

Hi Chris,
very nice. Nice view and great tones.
Nino

Hi Chris

That's an interesting shot. This mountain town reminds me some villages at Pindos mountains, Hepirus, Greece. They have their "personal" fog, especially at winter! :)

Nice shot, great capture of this situation. Nice.

Almost looks like a scene from a movie. This is a very strange scene to look at and it's fascinating at the same time. You where at a very good point of view for capture this scene.

Nice one!

Hi Chris. I love simple but dramatic shots like these. Good use of the high POV here as well. This does feel rather high up. This shot really catches the eye of the viewer and doesn't let go.

Good evening, Chris:

Thanks for your concern and message.

At this minute, most of Houston residents have been evacuated, before Hurricane Rita hits the city in the next hours.
We are living in Zone C, and authorities have declared "mandatory evacuation" on Zone A and B. Our zone will be next.
Our neighborhood is so quiet right now.
We have missed the chance and access to New Orleans 3 weeks ago, so Ngoc-Son and I decided to stay — unless they bring military in to force us out.
We expect to lose power in several days (we will be disappearing from TE until power being restored), and will need to wade in flood to collect pictures instead of driving...
Don't worry about us. Pray for the people who just abandoned their New Orleans weeks ago, and now have to be in another exodus...
God Bless!

Thanh

Very good picture Chris,a misty place.
Good work. Interesting to know from where you got the picture. Good composition. The houses covered by fog looks very good.
Well done.

Hi Chris,
I love the mistic looking village against this amazing backdrop, I would have like seeing a bit more town, but it might have been difficult ot capture.
Well Seen, ibback
Daniel

Hello Chris,
From top to down a fine perspective of this misty and density cloud formation touching the ground. The houses covered by the clouds! Excelent soft blue tones and also a excelent enquadrement of this interestin nature weather moment.

Very well seen and composed.

Hi Chris, that image gave us an idea of Capa, of the low clouds that covered the Vietnam hills and mountains. i saw something of similar in Dalat.
good light and colors, but a little bit poor on focus.
thanks, ciao

Hi Chris.
Nice colours and also fantastic scene: the clouds becomes this one in a special and beatiful picture.
Thanks for share.

Another "random" that I was too tempted to open : I like the fact that you did not shy away from the corrugated iron sheets and those black roofs, you like to show us the things as you saw them, which is perfect for me ! The fog seems very near, we can see the clouds moving and the bamboo bushes emerging are fun : beautiful !
TFS,
Cath.
