Photographer's Note
There were the sun and me. Blank. Empty. I was waiting for something to be the foreground for my sunset picture of the sand-dunes in Mui Ne, then the woman was passing by, beating the wind to make her way through...

Note:
More than one TrekEarth friend wrote me that they didn't like the frame that I used most of the time.
Today, I am reposting my first picture at their request, to show my gratitude to their support and kind words during my brief presence in TE family.
Currently, I am tied up with too many tasks while taking care of the family. I hope I will be able to return to TE one day not too far.
Regards,
Nhiệm

a nice composition. The sun without her would just look ordinary. Nice Job!

This must be one of the best Vietnam pictures I have seen! Wow Nhiem what an outstanding work! You have chosen such a great angle to capture this image. It's fantastic how the sand blows up and gives the image a mysterious look. The movement of this passenger is outstanding: her jacket and trousers blowing up in the wind; her slightly bent body as she is moving ahead; really makes you feel her fight against the wind and probably also her struggle to survive. That huge big sun would be her sign of hope and beauty. Just excellent! Sabine

Magnifique ! Il a fallu saisir l'instant et ne pas trainer pour faire la photo. L'expo est parfaite. Toutes ces nuances d'orange et de marron sont splendides.

I am not sure if I deserve to critique, but one thing I am sure is that this work must be done by a master-of-knowledge, not master-of-points.
To show my respect, I decide NOT to offer any point to this artwork.

It’s not the frame that’s makes the picture but what’s in the frame, Nhiem
This capture is a perfect example,
The sand flaying around making the bottom misty the girl holding her hat in the wind, the sun being there and the colors are to my liking
Compliments again and again
Well done

Impressive fotograph. Well taken. You should have it made larger and framed.
Looking at this picture, one question enters my mind. Didn't you worry about the sand in the air entering the inner workings of the camera? If so, how did you avoid the sand from going in? What make of camera did you use?
Greetings from Montreal

This is a very successful photograph. I do not know what you did to improve the framing, but the effort has been successful. You are very lucky person to get this framing naturally. Really beautiful image.

nice picture, Nhiem!
a lot of atmosphere, and this orange light, full of mystery and emotions! i prefer this version, no frame, no B/W...
i think that you could not cut the hat of the girl... in that case, your photo would be just perfect!

Hello again Nhiem, your work inspires me. I think the way you compose your images are just superb. I trully hope you get more time to post more stuff, the more the better, as I enjoy every single one of your images. I do understand that with work and family it can be difficult though ( for me family comes first too).

The fact that we don't see the ground is one of the right ingredients to this terrific picture !
Maybe the only change I would try (That means I don't know if it would be better) is to crop a part of the left side of the picture !

Hi Nhiem,
This is an excellent frame. Liked the exposure very much.
The sand grains flying around give the image a nice and natural grainy look.
The lifted right leg of the lady gives a sense of movement which is complimented by the prevailing negative space on the left of the frame.
This makes me remember one of my favorite quotes from the movie Rocky Balboa: "Life is not about how hard you get hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward"
