Photographer’s Note

We meet that young street seller in the district 1 of Ho Chi Min City, know also as the Saigon district.
We asked something about her life, something about her childhood...but she spoke only few words in English: "Buy my banana".
We bought many bananas...
The language differences are so frustrating!

ciao paolo, i like this one a lot - the colours reduced down to a minimum, dress synchronized with the colours of the sidewalk, and only bananas standing out;
very sweet portrait;

A wonderful photo; she looks so happy, yet working at such a young age is sad really.
You have composed the photo well; sometimes looking down on a person is a bad choice but somehow it works here. Well done

questa è bellissima. Sia l'espressione della bambina sia i colori. Tutto in blu: la strada, il vestitino, il piatto. E poi le banane GIALLE. Bellissimo contrasto.

Très jolie prise avec un grand sourir...on ressent bien la joie.
De belles teintes bleutées, le jaune des bananes ressort bien et la diagonale créée par cette ligne est bien vue.

Paolo, The language differences are so frustrating! That’s true but when people realy want to communicate they always manage, and if you are able to do that(bond with the people) you already have half of a good picture next you need a good eye and by the look of it you have two.
Perfect POV and good colors , her smile says everything

Les yeux et le sourire sont des signes universels qui peuvent remplacer bien des mots. La photo est très bien composée et l'angle de prise de vue est inhabituel. Les bananes apportent la touche de couleur complémentaire pour faire ressortir tout le reste.

Hi Paolo,
Excellent picture with a nice geometric composition : the diagonal, the circle with all the bananas and just aboce, the circle of the girl's head.
I read that it's a scanned image : does it explain the colors or have you done it on purpose ? When I look at your others pictures, I can suppose that you do post processing work on your pictures.
When I saw this picture, I couldn't help myself to make a WS to see what it looks like with others colors. Very differentn the bananas or "flashy". I hipe you like it.
