Crossing the river
The Dzay Minority people living in Ta Van Tribe — 15km South East of Sa Pa Town — always dress neatly and beautifully, 24/7, seven days a week, all year round. When I first arrived, I mistook that they dressed for some traditional ceremony, and I was not too interested in any specific set-up. After witnessing the old ladies picking up sweet potatoes with the same colorful clothes on, I was convinced that this tribe has higher education and condition of live.
Their tribal residential area is on one side while their terraced fields are on the other side of the little Muong Hoa Ho River. Whether they go to work on the farm or to the shopping at Sa Pa town, they have to cross the river at the shallow shortcut, as these girls are on their way home.

Xin Chao Thanh
I like this picture and the expression of the 2 girls. The water is probably cool and the stone hards. I have been there and i know these situations.
I will be back soon in Vietnam, in Lai Chau and Dien Bien Phu. I lived there 10 years ago. But this time i will go for the first time with my camera !
Hope i will share with you some pictures !

Bertrand

Very well composed photo with fine blurred background, so the attention is focused on two girls. The colours are also super but the most important is spontaneity of this picture. Well captured...

Why do the girls have to raise their pants while they were already wet under the water surface? Just an unnecessary habit? It's funny; I don't understand... female!
