Hi David, great picture. The old man in the picture doesn't bother me at all, and I like his expression.

Allow me post some info about this temple. It should be on Nguyen Trai Street in District 5, or China Town (I was born in Dist 6, but went to school in Dist 5, which is just a block from this temple). When we were young, on New Year day, most parents walked their childrend in here to pay respect. Then let their children to craw underneath the belly of this horse, and go around the two front legs, 3 times, then rubbing the chess of the horse, to bring good luck the years ahead (strong and fast as a horse). My brothers and sisters and I have been done so every year until we left Vietnam in 1980, then I was 13. And I am sure youngters now still doing just that on New Year day. It's incredible to see the statues again, pictures sure meant thousand words. Seeing it brings me right back to childhood.

I believe this is a Messenger God, with his speeding horse, being worshiped by Chinese in most temples.
