This photo is from Phalong Saturday market near the Chinese border. Phalong is about 30 km northeeast from Muong Khuong and Muong Khuong is about 70 km south of Lao Cai. No accomodation in Phalong but easy to go there by motorbike taxi from Muong Khuong.
