Photographer’s Note
My last picture for 6 days, Im going to Bali for 6 days, I will try my best to take good pics
I took this picture whilst on a boat cruise through the Mekong Delta, the houses were like this on the river edge, it really shocked me in the sense of how the houses were made and the living conditions. There fishing boats ready to catch their daily fish to sell in the market near by so they can buiy food for the day.
It is hard to imagine that the children would swim in such dirtiness, but I guess culture is different and it makes us think how lucky we have it, but I also think they are happy with what they have and that they dont know of how we live in our comfortable environments.
Well, I know the sky is a bit bright, I tried to darken it but then the details of the houses would be missing, I cropped the water because there was too much of it in the picture.
Also the rivers width stretches up to 3km wide, it is amazing and as narrow as thre to four boat spaces, the Mekong river is just so long as well.
I hope you like it.

You did pretty well on this trip, so I'm sure they will as beautiful on the next one. Again a nice capture of a daily life action, it is pity to see the situation there, we are for sure lucky, your view is very good and easy to imagine the situation, well seen.
Have a nice trip to Bali.

It's correct that they are happy with what they have,You said it right, but, the shot,I think it's great shot in daily life categories,About sky,it's not a major flaw, and with color of river the all are real.

I do like it, though I share your concern with kids, and adults for that matter, living like this. The pollution is one thing, but it must be humid beyond belief slepping in appartments like that. Cropping the water almost divides the frame into three equally sized parts, which gives you a nice compo.
Points tomorrow.

Superb picture of daily life architecture. I love architecture, but too many glorious monumnets and religious buildings lead us to forget how people really live.

So chaotic and so neat. All these shack like buildings seemingly made from metal sheets. And the antennae rising from them, each one with their own. And the boats. And the balconies and the clothes hanging and tables and chairs. And that brown water. All very chaotic and yet not too much for the eye. Very nicely captured.

HCMC looks like Bangkok used to look 30 years ago. I love the forest of tv antennas. Even in remote rural villages, nearly every home I saw had a tv.

This gives a very good impression of this that I'd really like to visit. Have fun in Bali.

Your photo illustrates well you note. It really is a unconfortble image.
About the sky you could have selected it and applied the brightness/contrast just to it without affecting the bottom part, then you could have inverted the selection and work to make things a bit brighter and to show some more details. Good crop.

The antennas are the highlight of this shot, good capture and a little dark but well seen

Quel dépaysement Daniel, le Mekong, fleuve mytique.
Merci du partage.
