At Cu Chi, not far from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), one can visit a reconstructed segment of the remarkable tunnel network which once stretched all the way to the Cambodian border.

Here the guide demonstrates how the Viet Cong were able to camouflage the entrances to the tunnels and disappear quite literally without a trace.

Greetings Philip,
Great info.Good lighting and clarity to the pic here. Its amazong to see how the tunnel entry is so small.I wonder how the inner side would be.

Thanks for sharing- Vikram

really it is a wonder how the got in . nice capture .

cool photo. i didnt' realize the snake holes were so small. i think this photo would look even better with a really tight cropping.

Hello Phillip,

Interesting phot and subject. It makes me claustrophobic. I read a book about this called "Tunnel Rats" that was unforgettable.

Regards,
Herb

Exelent nathing to add.

Hi Phillip...

I second what Herb says... "It makes me claustrophobic"....

a really informative shot, which speaks for itself...whilst this is clearly a tourguide, it gives a good depiction of what went on... THIS is also what TE is about.

I do wonder, did he get in, or did he climb up, to demonstrate? that looks like a very small gap!

very good pic !!

this guide mist be a little fellow to fit in that hole ;)

Hi Philip.
A very interesting shot! it looks very cramped, how big are the tunnels inside?

Very interesting! It's very authentic looking to have the guide poking down into the hole. Although the guide is perhaps a little too centered, it is a very striking shot.

I went here in July of 2006 but did not come back with any keepers of this area.
