I thought I would add one more on to my "heavy load" series which I started some time ago. These ladies carry their whole kitchens in their baskets and stop to set up, feed some customers and then moving on again to the next spot. The food ranges which they carry in their baskets, from fruit to soup to drinks etc...

Hi Wanda.Interesting approach showing us the woman going past, just another one amongst the many who eek a living by hard labour and much hope. Great warmth in this shot thanks to the quality of the light and the yellows and the reds. This scene brings back memories of my trip to Vietnam. Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Wanda,

I like this composition, with strong lines and good diagonal movement!
The low sun gives fine warm light, and the long shadow adds extra value...
Sharp fine details and good colours, many interesting details in the street scene!

Greetings,
Pablo -

Colors might be a little bit too saturated IMO, but I really like here the warm and peaceful touch of your photograph. Reminds me of Hoi An when I was there (although the place tends to get crowded with tourists ;-)

hi,
very beautiful street, good composition and very nice colours.very nice place to visit
greetings

Dag Wanda,
Goh, zon in Hoi An, is dat ook mogelijk? ;-)
Groetjes, Henk

Hi Wanda,
You benefitted from good light here and the exposure on the shadow areas is fine with clear details. The shadow adds to the scene. I like portraits from behind, actually!

Hi Wanda,
wonderful street scene of daily life with a great warm light, I suppose evening. Superb POV for depth and a view on these interesting facades. Together with sharpness and clarity, colours a pretty portrait of local daily life there. I am always impressed by the way they carry those loads.

Hola Wanda.
Wonderful daily life shot with a very nice street scene, the warm colors of the late afternoon produces a good lighting and long shadows. Very good composition. Very well captured.
Well done.
Cheers.

Hi Wanda,

I find it interesting every time I see these women balance such heavy loads in their shoulders. I think you did a good job showing this image because of the cultural implications. Overall the image is well composed, good colours and details. Nicely done Wanda.

Roberto

Hello Wanda,
Very nice daily life scene with pleasant light and warm colors.Absolotely realistic,an interesting documantary shot about the work in this country...
Best wishes,
Thomas

Hi Wanda,

Just when we think you've showed everything you've got from this Vietnam trip, you pull out this card from your sleeve!

Yes! And this is an ace as you hit the jackpot!... The light is warm and low, the architecture is well presented, but the most attractive part is of course your subject AND her long shadow that you took entirely - very important to make the difference between a good image and a great one...

You have done a strong composition, using the light direction and the angle of the street to lead us into the image. The colonial details of the houses are gorgeous. Never be ashame of putting electric poles and wires in your frame when they are an important part of a location, to render the real sense of "being there".

Cheers!

Wandré

P.S.: When I see these extremely photogenic costumes and hat, I wonder if they are dressing like that for tourists... But I won't complain and just hope they'll continue doing so, at least until I have the chance to go there myself!

Wanda,
Very nice street catch.
Warm tones are great, and your compo is nearly perfect.
Nice catch,
Regards,
JB.

Hi Wanda, wonderful daily life composition with splendid light and fantastic colors, very well done, ciao Silvio

hi Wanda

I like such kind of daily life photo to show very hardworking people going about in busy routine of work. This street candid scene is well captured in diagonal light and nice to see traditional architecture.

tfs, bill

Hi Wanda!

Excellent daily life scene, perfect composition, framing and perspective, glad you used an open frame so that we can also enjoy the environment! Magic light, long shadows, fantastic warm colours! Congratulations!

Hercules

Hey Wanda.

This is a really good and interesting picture! I love the colours here. You also have a very good composition and have placed the woman in a nice position here. Its just a small thing but I like her longer shadow here.

Very well done!

Blair

Hello Wanda
A well timed capture of the woman with her heavy bulk and her long shade adding visual impact. I like the perspective along the colonial houses and the light/shade contrast. Colors are fine too!
Cheers
Marilyn

Wanda: it's easy to identify this scene without the notes - classic Hoi An. Very nicely done. best, c

Hi Wanda,
When I arrived on your gallery, this photo caught my attention thanks to the golden light which illuminates it.
In addition, your subject is very interesting.
Very well done!
Regards,
Marianne

Salutes to these brave hearted, strong and stout ladies, who fr the sake of a livelihood carry the burden on their shoulders.
The presence of wires in the shot disturb the whole of the composition.....but trhe eys get so glued on the baskets that the minor issues get neglected.

Wonderful shot from Vietnam,

Rajeev

that looks like evening light! warm tones, long shadows. And you included all of your subject's shadow. Perfect!

The first thing that caught my attention when I opened this one, is all the electric wires. We usually try every angle to make sure we don't get them in the frame... But here, I actually like to see them. It contextualizes. It finishes the compo. The pic would be good without them. But it still is good with them.

I'll definitely get myself one of those hat!;) I watch with attention each and every one of your posts from south east asia now...

cheers!

Marc
