| Hai Van Pass stands in a landscape of war. Concrete bunkers attest to the fighting for it's position. On this same bus trip, I visited; the DMZ where Vietnam was divided, tunnels to carry goods, even trucks and tanks taken apart, later reassembled, to evade US troops detection, where simple bikes, pushed, could carry goods far to the south, and a war cemetary where soldiers rest, some so very young. |
