Photographer's Note
This old vietnamese lady filters the sand with her net to cath up the krill (small shrimps) left by the waves.
Later , the krill is dried and will be used like seasoning in different vietnamese dishes.
techniques: added saturation; croped to create a diagonal; cloned sand, water and sky on the left part; added brighness under her hat; used the burn tool to increase details on her dress;

Beautiful lighting and colors. Well framed. I like how the triangle shape can be found in the net and in the hat...

Same thought crossed my mind... Your composition becomes an interesting play of areas and triangles Steeve. Not only the outer wooden frame of the net and the hat form a triangle, but also her body. Would like to have seen more space between the horizon and the top of her "triangle-slash-hat" :-) The overlap of these two areas feels a bit too tight. Otherwise I great documentary shot. Well done!

The composition here is just great Steeve. As has been mentioned the repeated triangles look great. I also like the water and sky, not to mention how you have caught her in the middle of her work. You have also filled the frame very well. My only wish for this is more hardware. If you were able to use a fairly powerful flashgun, you could have lit her face as well. Those Vietnamese hats are terrible for creating impenetrable shadows. Good shot.

Of course the 2 triangles are obvious, but there's a third one that makes this shot a little more outstanding and even comfortable in its compo (3 is the magic number...) : look at the angle from her knees...
and now try to imagine this shot with legs completely stretched... not better than now, don't you think?
Well done steeve!

Well done Steeve. A real beautifull shot. The subject is really well centered and the movement is well captured. I agree about the hat that makes the face almost dissapear, but without it I think that the shot would not be so good.
I did a fun workshop to show how many triangles I could find. I got 6. Anybody see more ????

Paul's sharp eye got the magic of this photo. I loved it at the begining but I could't say why.
The triangle theory is just right (and welcome back paul!)
The combination of pink and green is great.
Well done, Steeve.

Fantastic. My eyes immediately caught these two triangles, lovely these sharp edges against the softness of the waves in the background. Composition is PERFECT and the lovely pink really comes out well against this bluish/greenish sea. Darren mentioned the lack of light on the face of this wonderfull old woman, I think it could be corrected with PS though. Cannot try it tonight, no time left and no WS posting available, but it could be worth while trying.

Hi Steeve. Good capture of the woman making a living. In my travels i notice it is often the folk like this that work in an energetic manner every day stay in such good physical shape, and this seems to be anothr example. Good colours and an insight into other ways of life. Excellent for TE. Murray.
