This is the gate to Khai Dinh Mausoleum in Hue, Vietnam. As evident from the gates, this mausoleum is a monumental confection of European baroque, highly ornamental Sino-Vietnamese style. Khai Dinh was the penultimate Nguyen emperor .
The mausoleum is 10 km from Hue by road. I arrived by boat, then took a motorcycle taxi for 1.5km to reach the gates.
Hue is famous for its ancient imperial city and mausoleums. Be sure you do not miss a visit to Khai Dinh Mausoleum, the most attractive and well-preserved, followed by Tu Duc and Minh Mang. |
