Dương Long (Ivory) Chăm Towers
Address: An Chánh, Tây Bình, District: Tây Sơn, Province: Bình Định, ViệT Nam
Located some 40 kilometres north west of Quy Nhơn in Tây Sơn District, the Dương Long or 'Ivory' Towers comprise a group of three towers erected during the 12th century in monumental Bình Định style (late 11th-early 14th centuries). Facing east and notable for their massive proportions, the towers reflect the strong influence of Khmer architecture during this period, which may be accounted for by the fact that King Jaya Indravarmadeva lived in Angkor before acceding to the Chăm throne with Khmer assistance in 1203, and during his reign (1203-1220) the Chăm kingdom became virtually a vassal-state of Angkor. The Khmer influence is discernible both in the volume of sandstone decoration used and in the structure of the tower roofs. However, the towers retain a number of traditional Chăm motifs and features. Many important statues and bas-reliefs have been recovered from the site, indicating that it was once an important religious centre

Hello Huy,
J'aime beaucoup ce temple caché dans la végétation. Je ne le connais pas mais il me rapelle le sanctuaire de Prang Samyod.Bravo pour les tons ocre de la brique en contraste avec le feuillage et le ciel.

Hi Huy
It just lacks a little sharpness, but good use of the artistic principle of 3. I like the flattened perspective, & tight cropping. Good work!

Very interesting your following enterprise "I am trying to make a photo set for the Champa Towers by myself. This is Ivory Champa Towers in Binh Dinh Province." All the towers are worth of interest and as beautiful as each others. (Jean-Pierre)
P.S. J'ai placé deux de vos photos des tours dans le workshop afin de les comparer entre elles et merci encore une fois de toutes les illustrer dans TE.
