Photographer's Note

3.22 p.m. - I did a day trip to Tam Coc which is about 130 km south of Hanoi and took slightly over two hours by bus to reach. Tam Coc literally means “Three Caves” and the numerous limestone karst mountains resulted in this place to be popularly known as “Inland Halong”. Taking the three hours sampan trip up and down the Ngo Dong river which meanders through this picturesque landscape and passing through the three caves is a must. If you are lucky you will also be greeted by fields of ripening golden rice ears on either banks of the river, a reminder that Vietnam is the main rice producer in the world.
