From Wikipedia:
Halong Bay is a body of water of approximately 1,500 square kilometres in north Vietnam with a 120 kilometre coastline, in the Gulf of Tonkin near the border with China, and 170 kilometres east of Hanoi. "Vịnh Hạ Long" — Halong Bay — means "Bay of the Descending Dragon" in the Vietnamese language. Hạ means "descending" and Long means "dragon" in Sino-Vietnamese. Some of the islands support floating villages of fishermen, who ply the shallow waters for 200 species of fish and 450 different kinds of mollusks. The bay was World Heritage listed by UNESCO at the 18th meeting of the Committee of the World Heritages of UNESCO (in Thailand on December 17th, 1994). It is one of Vietnam's most popular tourist destinations.

Such a wonderful mist on the back of the image, and all these rocks! Very intersting photo, I like it!

Although the boat in the foreground is definitely the focus point, I really enjoy looking at the view in the background. The misty feel along with the mesmorising mountains attracts my attention. I very nice image. Cheers, Grant

Quite a nice composition here, Guy, with several points of interest but nothing overwhelming the scene.

The boat in the foreground (maybe crop a little close to the oar..) would have made an interesting shot in its own right, but the inclusion of the houseboats and the rock formations lifts this to another level.

Very nice image to look at, well done!

Hi Guy,
Nice and interesting place to be photographed.
Good shot. Amazing colours and atmosphere like not from this world.
Regards, Krzysztof.

Even though the picture is a bit dark and could use a bit more contrast, it is well composed. The fact that a small aperture was used is good.

Horrid greenly tinted frame though.

Hi Guy,
Nice shot, I like the boat placement as well as the mist on the background. Good composition.
Regards,
Iris

Hi Guy,
This is a nice picture of this so famous halong bay, lucky to have been in this place, i would love !
I like the inclusion in foreground of this little boat against this impressive and magestic background. I'm sure that with more contrasts that would have lead to more eyes catching picture.
But i like the foggy atmosphere like that.
Good

hello GUY.
beautiful composition!
charmante image!
bravo!
aldo.

This must be one-heck-of-a-nice-place to visit.
Not only for pure visual pleasures, buy also to make some shopping, while you are there, right ? (:-))
The only thing I don't like about this photo is that it evokes some dreams, some never fullfilled desires to go places, to see them with my very own eyes, to smell the air out there..
Maybe some day ..??? (:-))

Take care, Guy

All the best, brother
