[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is an edited note: ninadev noticed that this bike is at the same place as a similar shot by znabel.(It is at a highway rest stop between Ha Noi and Ha Long Bay).

There is an embroidery workshop selling to tourists, next to the restaurant and toilets we stopped at, so this guy may have stopped in to sell some baskets to the craft shop before taking the rest of them elsewhere. In znabel's shot the load is sitting on the ground, so the bike may have been overloaded for visual effect and left there awhile as tourist bait; some baskets in his shot look older than the ones on this load.

I had already taken a closer view of the bike and the baskets, without the rider. Our bus was loading when I noticed the guy. I didn't want to hold everyone up while I ran in for a better shot, so I grabbed this from the end of the bus while boarding, just before he swung onto his bike and rode off. I agree with several posters that I should have cropped the shot closer.

Very nice shot. But I think you should get closer and capture more of the man's expression, even if it means leaving out the baskets on the right side.

I think the frame is right - the wonderful subtropical palms are important. BTW, a good photo to document the energy that is being thrown out of the window each day

A very good one, in the spirit of TE, Ian.
Hard to imagine he didn't loose any of them.
And the comments till yet, also good for the spirit of TE - I'm somewhere between Mickie and Francis about the cropping. And a bit more sharpness? However, in this case not so important, tha mass of the baskets and not their structure is point.

oh, it is a nice capture! the bike? what bike? where is the bike? I'd take some more shots of this bike and the guy!
anyway, a really great scene.

Very interesting subject. Beautiful brown tones.
I would frame the image tighter – I posted a WS.
Still, well seen and captured.

Very interesting. I've seen a lot of stuff loaded on bikes, but never this much :) Thanks.

I was sure it was a repost of a previous photo, but no it's just a similar one to this one. I wonder if it's the same man.
The interest of this shot is the motive, that's for sure. An amazing pile of baskets on a bike is not something we usually see and it's quite humorous too. I agree with the others that compositionwise something could have been done to make it a little less static. If it had been shot at another time of the day, there could have been a nice play of light in the baskets, but we don't always choose the moment we meet an interesting subject.

You seem to have a knack of finding really interesting subjects. Where does the guy sit? I think it would have been better to try to get a bit closer.

A very nice shot, the palms frame the pictures very nicely. A very interesting picture.

A great 'daily life' shot, Ian, and a good addition to TE. It's interesting to see how many baskets the man has managed to pile on hid bike. Well seen.

Itīs amazing !
What kind of bike support this !
Perfect composition !

Ditto to the above. I'd crop away the top to the wall & trim away the left up to the palm tree. Great shot with good POV.

I am not sure about cropping off the palms or getting closer to the rider's expression. The subject here is showing the bigginess of the load overloading, overcrowding the bike. And as if that wasn't enough, there are some more sitting by the handlebar.

It makes you think how he could actually ride the bike, don't you think Ian.

Even if it must be cropped, I would suggest cropping off the lane and the pebbled divider, making the photo, a bit panoramic and tight.

Nice shot Ian! This bike is really incredible overloaded =). Interesting notes too. But i like your cropping, I don't think the shot should have been closer. If anything, you could have cut out some centimeters at the bottom. Great captured!

I like it fine as it is, we have an idea of where he is.
