Cat Ba and Halong Bay, a photo from Hai Phong, Red River Delta

Photographer's Note

Here a photo of a small island in Halong Bay taken from Cat Ba island. The place is near the beaches of Cat Ba village, where there's footpaths connecticg the 3 beaches. The day looks quite pleasant in the photo, but there was actually a storm warning which meant i couldn't go out kayaking that day.

Hi Peter,

excellent composition with good colors and perspective. Very nice capture of the rocky island amid sky and water. Very good that you included the boat on the right side of the compo to add some dimension to the picture. Well done :-)

Nice shot Peter! I like your composition very much but it has a very noticeable tilt to it that can be fixed easily with perhaps a 2 degree rotation to the right.

A good POV of this island and of the sea. The photo is sharp and clear. It has a good composition, DOF and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful place and photo!
That water is wonderful.
The compo lacks some imagination but I guess you hadn't much choices. Too bad for the tilt.
