Sapa - Rice fields

The period in which I visited North Vietnam (last week of March and first half of April) was too early in the year to see green rice fields. At least for the famous rice terraces of Sapa it was too early.
It was not even the planting season. Most fields looked brown.
In some places you could see the walls being restored or the fields being plowed to prepare for the planting of the rice.

Despite the fact that several sources on internet claimed that this time of the year is in terms of the weather a good period to visit the north of the country, I don’t recommend it to any who can choose his holidays.
It was very often foggy and most days the views were not brilliant.

I remember I discussed this with a Vietnamese person and that man said that there’s only one month with clear weather: November. This really seemed to be a very small period of the year and I don’t know if it’s true but the fact is that on internet you can find a lot of foggy pictures of Vietnamese landscapes.
Anyway, in autumn I always have to work …
