[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
YenBai is a beautiful area in North of Vietnam just south of the Chinese border. It has some areas which are similar to Guilin in China. Some international efforts are underway to ensure no damage to retain as a beautiful area for future generations.
Most of Vietnam's mineral deposits are found in the north around and beyond Hanoi, the capital city.

itīs like a computer game, I am the god and this is my land, great colours

Hello Murray,
Impressive farmland you capture here! As I know Vietnam is an important rice exporter in SE Asia, but I gues you're more interested in minerals...
This is a fine panoramic view of the place, good colours and pleasant details!
Greetings,
Pablo -

It certainly looks like a beautiful area. The bright grren grass does the photo credit. It's the same here in Korea, well in terms of the rice fields! Did you happen to take some close up shots of the fields, buildings, and people? I'm gonna add this one too the rice theme!

Hi Murray,

A very good POV of the valley and of the mountains, the photo is sharp and clear. It has a good composition, DOF and nice colors. TFS.

Hi Murray,
Beautiful shot, great POV. A high quality composition with great DOF, well framed. I like green tones a lot, too. Congratulations!
Best wishes...

Hello Murray! I like this compo very much but there seems to be a strange halo around the mountains in the sky. Perhaps too much sharpening? Very nice POV

Regards,
Doug

Hi Murray!
Good shot of this nice landscape.Verry nice view at the houses, surrounded by the rice fields and the interesting mountans. The different green tones look nice.
Regards,Leo

Hi Murray. Yes this is indeed a lovely scene. I love also the contrast between the flat of the fields and the steepness of the hills with no middle ground. Excellent capture and thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

hi murray
A well made shot presenting this interesting landscape in a good way. The background clouds a bit washed out, still a fine overall setting. Good details of the plain and scattered houses.

Nice detailed landscape, very pleasing even though the sky is letting you down a little.

This shot offers a nice overview of a nice area. I like the (green) colours and think you've chosen a good POV.
What I like less is the overexposed sky, and some details got lost above different parts with trees and bushes. I guess this was unavoidable due to compression, however you'd still had 130kb left, so could have used less strong compression, so less details could have get lost. Anyway a nice share, thanks.

Your photograph captures the feel of this part of Vietnam very well, Murray. The halo around the mountains is probably a combination of what both Doug and Emiel have mentioned - but probably more the latter because there is not much evidence of over-shaprening in the rest of the image. By uploading this at only 71kb you are losing a lot of the detail in compression - if you had used your full 200kb allowance my guess is that this would have had a lot more impact. Also, as far as the composition is concerned, I would have been inclined to shoot a little more towards the left so that the large karst in the background wasn't so much dead centre, and having a little more of the slope on the left in frame would have looked good too. Cheers . . . David

wow murray, i like your panorama view in this picture. the landscape looks very pretty and it make me want to go there soon ! its a little unsharp but nvmnd !

Wow, Murray - what a fabulous landscape. The colors are incredible and you did a great job with the composition. I particularly like the patterns shown by the different shades of green in the valley. That is a really beautiful place. TFS, Shelly

Hi Murray

This one popped up in the randoms. Reminds me of Yangshuo in south China. A good high pov, with excellent sharpness & greenery. Tfs!
