Photographer’s Note
Every 19th August since 2005 I am travelling to Halong. It is a special place. I should have been here with a very special person who started his last trip in 2005 to an island called Ithaca, but I decided to change the itinerary of the small boat and crossing the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean, passing by the Maldives Islands and Sri Lanka, the Bay of Bengai, the Andaman Sea, the South China Sea, the Gulf of Tonkin and .... the bay of Halong. When I arrived the weather was grey, misty, but the emerald green color of the sea and the thousands of islands showed its splendid beauty to me.
This year I'll be back, and I will be there during two days. Today it's only in my imagination.

Hello Roser,
Such a paradise like place, I can only imagine being there in person, and I will one day. I'm learning Vietnamese so by the time I get there I can use some of it. The light was hard for a good photo the bright sky make the rest of the image under exposed and the sky is a little over exposed. I guess the best time is still in the morning and just before and after sunset. You manage well enough that we can see the boat and the rock and vegetation very nicely. Thanks you. I'm sure you are thrill to visit again soon.
Way

Hi Roser. It is an impressive place and I regret that on my trip to VNam I did not go this far south. The sea and the vegetation are in harmony and the boat fits in nicely with its delicate sails. I suggest next time to cropp a sky that has not much going for it. I might do a quick workshop to see the difference. Ciao. Klaudio.
