Photographer’s Note
Halong Bay is spread over about 1500sq km and consits of hundreds of stone towers rising out of the waters. In 1994 UNESCO declared part of the bay a world heritage site, and again in 2000 declared Halong Bay a world heritage site. Apparently people moved into the bay some 25,000 years ago.
You can go on these boats for a day trip or one night or more exploring the islands and kayaking etc... and you get your own cabin and meals generally included in the price.
Here the boats are all docking at the end of the day.

Hi Wanda,
beautiful sunset shot of this incredible site. Looking at the tech specs, I guess you didn't have any tripod, to go for a smaller aperture. There's not too much noise anyhow for a 1600 ISO shot. I've just discovered your gallery so I'm now looking forward to seeing the material you're going to bring back from India.
Yours,
Philippe

Wanda, amazing colors!!! really amazing! 1600...of course, a tripod on a boat is pretty useless...
I was at this exact same place 3 months ago...The boat all dock there. we had a nice party on the boat after the sun came down...was fun! Did they make you fish squid like they did with us? :) I'm sort of allergic to sea food, can you imagine me in this boat (10 set meals, all made of seafoods!!!).
Such beautiful silhouettes, I'll never forget that place!!
I wish you a superb trip in India...again! lucky you!

Overall, it is a very nice picture. However, it is a pity all the boats are in the dark shadow of the islets. The pink sky and reflection is really nice. Well done.

The colours are amazing, especially the pastel shade in the sky. The karsts are a bit dark but that's understandable because of the backlight, but that also highlights the artificial lights on the boats.
Welcome to India...look fwd. in meeting you on 3rd
Best Regards

Wanda,
Halong Bay is just beautiful and such a mystic place. Adds to that this beautiful sunset color and mood, it is just breath taking. So calm and peaceful the atmosphere. Off course with 1600 ISO there is some noice but at this size one can barely tell. Excellent work and it's worth taken and well done even at 1600 ISO. Thanks
Way

Hello Wanda! This is a nice way to celebrate your departure with the boats. I mean whatelse is more are symbol for travelling than a ship. I like the weak lights that we can see just a little, lovely evening light, very soft, before it goes away. Have a wonderful trip, enjoy ... and bring back fotos, lots of fotos :))) Barbara.

Dag Wanda,
Groetjes,
Henk

Hello Wanda
The luminosity and the blue&pink colors of the sky is really lovely and make a fine contrast with the karsts. There are quite few boats and I guess there are always full as this place is quite famous!
I wish you a very good trip in India ;)
Cheers

You are leaving us with a beautiful view of one of the most photographed place in the world., and for a reason.
I like the way the silhouette fades in the horizon, circled by the colrful sky and reflexion.
