Photographer's Note

In the village of Sa Pa in the north of Viet Nam, there is a fun weekend lover's market. I understand tha tyears ago it is where the people came from all around to meet with others from other areas, however these days it's a tourist trap. It's still great, but sometimes the numbers of people can get to you. The sheer volume of shots that are open to a photographer is overwhelming, and round nearly every corner there is something more.

About mid morning we left the market and went and had a coffee. Just off the main area was this woman selling the raw blue dye that colours the clothing worn by local ethnic H'Mong people. You can buy it by weight and then take it away to dye the heavy hemp cloth that makes up the wardrobe of the area.
