Photographer’s Note

from a small brook-side village 15km from Sapa - forgot the name... The Red Dzao ladies stitch their traditional embroidery most every day, for themselves and for the poor tourists who stray into their persuasive vending orbit. Here live Black H'Mong and Red Dzao in the same village.

A Provia 100 slide scanned on a Canon FS4000 scanner and adjusted in CS2.

If one has to catch the best of portraits from Asia all that he has to do is to drop in at your gallery. Simply iressistable! Dressed in traditional costume, she is hard to miss with that wizened look on her face.

This is a cracker of a photo! Not only does it give you a full run down of a mamma sappa character it is well composed and full documents the subject. Clear and clean lines gives no doubt this is a extremely nice one.
