Photographer's Note
Bac Ha Market.
Every Sunday, Bac Ha hosts the biggest fair near the mountainous highlands and the Chinese border. It is a trading centre and meeting place for couples, friends, and relatives, and it is a typical weekly activity for the H’Mong and other minority groups living in the locality. Local products for sale or barter are carried on horseback.
At the fair, adventurous gastronomes can try thang co blood porridge, a popular dish of the H’Mong and other local people.
H'Mong child.
He went to the market with his mom. They sell Phở - the name of noodle soup (the most popular food among the population). He's breakfast. He is so young so that He doesn't know how to eat skilly with chopsticks.
***
(Phở is mostly commonly eaten for breakfast, although many other people would have it for their lunch or dinner. Anyone feeling hungry in the small hours of the morning can also enjoy a bowl of hot and spicy Phở to fill their empty stomach. Phở also needs its special taste and smell. The grated rice paper is made of the best variety of fragrant rice called Gạo Tẻ. The soup for Phở Bò (Phở with beef) is made by stewing the bones of cows and pigs for a long time in a large pot. Pieces of fillet mignon together with several slices of ginger are reserved for a bowl of Phở Bò Tái (rare fillet). Slices of well done meat are however offered to those less keen on eating rare fillets. Meanwhile soup for Phở Gà (Phở with chicken meat) is made by stewing together chicken and pig bones. White chicken meat served with Phở Gà is boneless and cut into thin slices. You could regard Phở Bò and Phở Gà as Vietnam's special soup. It has the added advantage of being convenient to prepare and healthy to eat)

what a lovely candid capture here, you sure caught her red handed! a cute little glutton, with all the empty bowls, looks like she sneaked back for some noodles after all the grownups were gone. (don't you just wish they didn't use plastic containers, especially ugly blue:-(..)

Now that's a lovely shot. You felt the moment. Well done, althought the picture is not sharp enough. I like the story that is told here...
Regards,
Mike
