Hà Giang is a highly mountainous region, and travel around the province can be difficult. Much of the province is too mountainous for agriculture, leaving much of the land covered by forests. Hà Giang's central plateau is good for growing plums, peaches, and persimmons, which the province exports.
The photo was taken in Ha Giang - Vietnam. This place is great for photographers, no tourist, no money for photo and absolutely pure.
Hà Giang is one of the poorest provinces of Vietnam. Traditionally, the vast majority of its economic activity revolved around agriculture and forestry, but in recent years, there have been attempts to establish a manufacturing industry. Infrastructure in Hà Giang has seen improvement, but remains poor - roading, schools, and health services are less developed than in many other parts of Vietnam.
Many people in Hà Giang belong to one of Vietnam's ethnic minorities. Aside from the Viet (or Kinh), the most numerous ethnic groups in Hà Giang are the Tay, the Dao, and the Hmong.

So well done...
The environment speaks volume & am thrilled by the choice of subjects. The looks of the baby connects so well & is memorable.

I like so much the square format and the black background. The result is an awesome black and white emotive portrait.

It's a beautifully done portrait, Ireland. The mother looks so sad and at the same time so loving, as though love and concern are just pouring out of her into the child. Even the child looks a little worried. The dark background, with just hints of where they are, is really nice. You have isolated mother and son--their thoughts and their love. Regards, Ken.
