[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Socialist Republic of Viet Nam stretches its 1,600-kilometre length along the coast from north to south between the Truong Son mountain range to the west and the South China Sea to the east, The coastal plains broaden out at each end ‘of the country-along the Red River delta in the north and along the Mekong (Nine-Dragon) delta in the south-to accommodate the greater part of the population. Located between the sixteenth and seventeenth parallels, the city of Huê is almost equidistant from these two extremities and is built on a very narrow arable plain. The city is 13 kilometres from the sea, and the mountain range, outlined on the horizon, forms an important part of the urban landscape. The foothills rise up from the city gates.

In the heart of urban Huê is the former royal citadel, which houses the monuments of the historic capital of feudal Viet Nam. Shopping areas have grown up immediately outside the citadel round the main Dông Ba market, on the left bank of the Perfume River. On the right bank, along the straight tree-lined avenues, stand most of Huê‘s public buildings, schools, universities, post office, hospital, banks, as well as the offices of provincial and municipal authorities and residential areas. Scattered throughout the modern part of the city are various religious buildings, such as the archbishop’s palace, the cathedral, pagodas, as well as many charming old nineteenths-century houses set in beautiful verdant gardens. I had capture here the a gate of the wall around the Dien Phung Tien of the citadel. Dien Phung Tien means Temple of Ancestor Worship. In the workshop another view.

Ancestor worship, also known as ancestor veneration or ancestorism, is a religious practice based on the belief that deceased family members have a continued existence, take an interest in the affairs of the world, and possess the ability to influence the fortune of the living. All cultures attach ritual significance to the passing of loved ones, but this is not equivalent to ancestor worship. The goal of ancestor worship is to ensure the ancestors' continued well-being and positive disposition towards the living and sometimes to ask for special favours or assistance. The social or non-religious function of ancestor worship is to cultivate kinship values like filial piety, family loyalty, and continuity of the family lineage. While far from universal, ancestor worship or ancestor veneration occurs in societies with every degree of social, political, and technological complexity, and it remains an important component of various religious practices in modern times (from Wikipedia)

Ich habe über 200 analoge Fotos von Hue und ich fand diesen Ort beeindruckend,hatte aber nur dunkelgrauen Himmel und fürchterliches Licht.
Die Farben und der Kontrast sind sehr gut hier ,genauso wie die Kompo.

What I like about this is the incredibly rich and saturated colours, probably a result of the overcast day and rain, which tends to make the wet buildings more colourful (like a wet stone is more colourful than a dry one). I wish there was a person visible here, to give this some more life, but it's a good shot nevertheless. Well done!
