My youth village Lang Co has more than two dozens of waterfalls distributing from the peak of Hai Van Pass to the peak of Phu Gia Pass — a length of 10 miles.

This picture has been taken of Waterfalls Number Three near Lang Co Railroad Station. This is not as large as Hoi Dua Waterfalls, but it has an unique natural pond with the depth of 5 meters. From a tall rock, Lang Co boys used to hold bindweed and swayed across before jumping down into the cold water. To reach this pond the boy and his group had to climb about a kilometer from National Route 1, but the reward is great as you can tell from his face.

The picture is dated back to 1989, but the enjoyment is unchanged to current generations. I regret that I returned to my village several times during the recent decade but my health no longer allows me to climb again.

Hola Thanh.
Bonita fotografía de acción. Me gusta como has captado la expresión del niño.
Buena la composición.
Buen color y nitidez.
Un saludo

Hello Thanh,
I like the composition with this little curious fellow!
Colours seems to be preserved quite well through the years...
Seems like a fine place to chill down on hot days!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Great shot, Brother!
When I was there during the war, people told me about the pond, but my unit never let me climb up there because a few hundred meters from national Route 1 is the area controlled by the enemy. Now that your picture offers me the first chance to see it.
Thank you.
Mike
