I wasn't sure if I should post this or not. Taken on a cloudy day, from a moving boat, so sharpness is not that great. But I thought it was a good daily life shot, & I liked the blurred streaks in the water.
The women are paddling the canoe with their legs: hence the title.

It's blurred but it's a nice composition. I like the reflections on the water and the enquadrement you did. Soft tones and well seen!

Hi Chris! I agree it's a good shot about everyday life in Vietnam. I wonder what the guy at right is doing. Very interesting boat, it seems it's their mobile home. Wonderful catch! rgds.

Good thing you included it Chris. Just the shot made from out in the river makes it different and interesting. Maybe this was the model for all the legs driven boats to rent at beaches around. Interesting shot.

I don't mind it not being razor sharp Chris, and the wonderful green colours make up for it anyway. I like the scene very much and the way the light reflects off the water.

I'm glad you posted it,it's a fine TE shot,Chris!
The kind of boat which moves with paddling with legs in the shot here is a great subject,it's a boat for their job, well captured and well cropped to make this composition, very nice,Chris!
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Chris, well personally I like this shot with this view of the daily life. I like the water color too and the hats of the women. Thank you for this testimony of vietnam life.
Do you know why it's called perfume river ???

Hello Chris J
This is my native river. The water color and reflection of people and boat all are very nice, very lovely. Do you need me answer Marie? Bonne Week end.

very good daily life shot, I like the boats and the hats and water, very traditional shot, well done

A fine story-telling picture with tight framing in a slight pano format.
The sharpness is good, every detail on the boat is visible.

The Vietnam river is again your place for a good image, yes, the blurred together with the wrinkles in water give a lovely picture.
The water give a green colour tints.
Have a nice weekend,

So pedlo technology put to commercial use. As I often say, the compo is always more important than the tech, so yes, good decision to post this really interesting shot of this strange boat.

It is good that you posted it, Chris, as the scene is an interesting and characteristic one and it includes nice reflections on the water. Looking at the verticals it seems that you could have rotated it a bit to the left before cropping (but then again this would have resulted in losing some more details at the right).

This one (I mean the boat ) is very typical, and the picture gives a good idea from the traditional composition of iot and the age of it.
I have not well understood how it works as you are talking about Padling, as we often see in this region the ladies using their leg instead of their arm to row. Is it working here as a pedalo ?
Quality is not too bad and saved by a good contrast on the subject, and anyway this boat is so interesting..
I like it

Hi Chris, it is not that blured, I think it's pretty good considering the moving boat, the background is just perfect, thanks for sharing.

Tu as bien fait de poster cette image. Le sujet est très intéressant et sa présentation en format panoramique allonge le bateau.
Très bon travail mon ami, le résultat est plus que correct.

Excellent cadrage, et bon choix de format.

Hi Chris. Your DOF seems especially well controlled. You probably bump up the sharpness without too many ill effects. I do like the cropping you went with. Good shot Chris.

The dark colors work great here, Chris, and I am glad that you decided to post it. The long frame fits nicely the long boat, there is a special mood in this picture.

Hi Chris, I like the view of the colorful water with reflections. The working scene is well capture. It is a well worth posting picture. The combination of the old boat with some paddling machinery is very interesting. I have never seen a paddling boat in real use before except those entertaining ones in parks.
A nice capture and an interesting picture.
oochappan (16355) 2005-07-03 19:45
Curious how sharp the boat and the people on it are still sharp while the water in front is blured, good daily life shot.

Ok this is not the best scan you showed us, but the scene is interesting here and the panoramic format wroks well here, plus I suppose you cropped on the top to keep only the best part ?
Have a nice week end,
