Photographer's Note

.

During the war, Quang Tri province was the south part of DMZ the abbreviation that typically refers to a demilitarized zone, an area where military equipment and activity are prohibited. In fact, the area has been the most horrible bloodshed.

"Today, anything about the war is found in either a museum or a tourist trap. You will not easily find war artifacts old American firebases. They disappeared a long time ago. Nobody cares about the war in Viet Nam: the vast majority of the population was born after the war ended and have no more memory of it than American youth."(Doug Young)

So I would call these kids DMC, or demilitarized children. Look at their smiles: do you agree that we could not find a trace of war?

Please share with me. Thanks.
