This is from Phong Dien floating market, 20 kilometres from Can Tho in the Mekong delta. It is not as large as the more famous Cai Rang market closer to the city, but just as busy.
People are everywhere climbing into each others boats, producers delivering their goods to their customers who will then go to their towns or villages to sell the fruit, vegetables or whatever to the local traders.
The small boats are carefully manoeuvred but yet always bump into each other, now and then there are complicated traffic jams, but the atmosphere is good-humoured and relaxed. Some people sit quietly and eat their noodle soup while waiting for customers. Small children and dogs play among the mangos or pineapples. |

Hej Gert,
I like this composition with a lot of things and people like a pyramid, and then that typical hat topping all of it! Well observed. Also very good colours.

gert,
Great everyday life image in Vietname. Very natural and unintrusive to the people. Thanks for showing. Good clarity and sharpness. I like it.
