[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was in two minds about posting this one, at first glance it looks too cluttered, but I also like what is going on in the clutter. The women in the background being punted home from the morning market with their goods, the three huddled over their rice at the end of their morning work and the casual pose of the woman in the foreground. (and not forgettign the mauve slippers)
And after all isnt that the beauty of the riverine markets, chaos:)

I was up at 4am and was chugging to the Phung Hiep market by 5:30 along with the locals and their variety of produce, being on a small boat ouselves we were able to cruise alongside and inbetween the market boats.

Last post and comment for a week or so, off to the land of sushi.
Take care
Elaine

Sure its cluttered, but who said that all clutter is bad? There is a wealth of great details here, from the hats to the produce, to the boats in the back. Lots of great things to look at. More noteworthy is the colors and especially the richness and warmth of the colors here.

Hi Elaine, again e =a very nice market shot, with a very nice daily life atmosphere. Two women gossiping, or so it seems, one eating. Some boats in the back ground. Lovely, and very attractive and warm colors. I have to say that about the Nikon D79, it gives you good colors, I never have the wish to saturate or whatever.
Yes, it is a bit cluttered, but I don't mind about that.
Hm, going to Japan again, he? Have fun!

Well composed and natural impact for this beautifull composition.. I like a lot!! ..compliments Elaine.

ciao, Fabio.

Good captured interesting photo with good note.Well shown someones every day life.

Another truly splendid view from Can Tho (I know it well).
I love your gold-tinged subdued colors, Elaine, the RED of the coat in the foreground and the BLUE cloth on the boat further back. There is a natural elegance to your take on the floating market there that is remarkable. I should think Huy will be very pleased with this, or anyone from Vietnam.
Talk to you later maybe.
All the best,
Francis

sorry green later

You got some good shots but still this one I don't want to miss. A rich colored daily life scene taken with a good angle to tget these women withe their hats in front towards the busy life behind taken with a perfect DOF, a nice one Elaine, lot to see.

This is a wonderful snapshot (and by snapshot I mean moment, not technically inferior photograph) of daily life on the river. I think personally I would have converted it to sepia (or b/w, but probably sepia to keep the warmth of the scene) to avoid the colourful distractions of the big blue tarpaulin through the centre and what looks like a cuddly strawberry in the foreground boat, even though this would mean losing the pleasing orange tone of the clothing the lady in the background is wearing.
