[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I’m still floating on my small boat along some side streams of the Mekong, around one of those areas where the water level is ridiculously low because of the lack of rain; and I see from a distance that this sweet girl is squatted along the bank, staring in the (not so clean) water.
She looks up as she hears the motor of our little boat sputter, struggling to move forward in the dirt more than in the water of the river.
As I sit in the front of the boat she sees me straight away and without hesitation a beautiful smile appears on her little face. She doesn’t move anything apart from her arm and she waves hello. I wave back but also try to get my camera prepared to snap her when I’m in front of her. She doesn’t stop waving nor smiling, although I must have looked rather stupid holding a camera and trying to wave at the same time – not easy.

Even if this encounter lasted not even a few minutes, it was still a precious moment. Funny, how a simple, friendly gesture can make one’s day. And it’s really so easy; just say hello!

This is a striking photo, and I really like the composition and background.

Shame that the the resolution seems to be a bit low and that the highlights are too strong in her hand. But 2 smilies for the composition, title and charming note.

... joking .... a pleasant shot Sabine, very natural her reaction with a nice smile, placed in her environment well, nice capture from the boat, I like the long framing and the centered portrait here.

HELLO!! oh, and hello to you too, Sabine... it is a nice catch of this little girl, so cute with her smile and gesture. the focus is not so good... I just have to be honest :)... but a wonderful note, i enjoyed it.

Nice portrait, she's cute and so friendly.
I like the blue bricks(?) background, the faming is nice, I wish I could have a bit more sharpness.

Sabine, j'ai choisi celle-ci pour la sensibilité qu'elle dégage, malgré ou grâce en partie à la qualité imparfaite.
je ne suis pas un inconditionnel du piqué absolu , de la saturation exacerbée....
Là, tu as un fond très intéressant, et tu as figé qque chose de fugace qui méritait de l'çetren, cette espèce de mèlange de timidité et d'élan vers l'autre est assez touchant, ça méritait + de points...
Tu me diras, je n'avais pas ouvert ta photo; le système des vignettes est redoutable!
