Who'll Stop The Rain?

Long as I remember
The rain been coming down.
Clouds of myst'ry pouring
Confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages, Trying to find the sun;
And I wonder, Still I wonder, Who'll stop the rain.

I went down Virginia,
Seeking shelter from the storm.
Caught up in the fable,
I watched the tower grow.
Five year plans and new deals,
Wrapped in golden chains.
And I wonder, Still I wonder Who'll stop the rain.

Heard the singers playing,
How we cheered for more.
The crowd had rushed together,
Trying to keep warm.
Still the rain kept pouring,
Falling on my ears.
And I wonder, Still I wonder Who'll stop the rain.

Image took from a long boat at the Cai Rang Floating Market, the biggest one of the Mekong Delta.
It was a rainy and wet day, with thunderstorms, strong wind and high waves on the river, that in this area is wide more than 3 kms; not the favorite day to spent 8 hours on the Mekong!

Hi Paolo,
B&W sure is the right medium for the theme.
Fine composition,
thanks and regards, Gerrit

Hi Paolo.

Interesting picture. Unfortunately, I think it needs a little more contrast (it's an opinion of course).

The composition, with the boat as an introduction is great and I like it.

Hi Paolo,
I love that atmosphere you've captured. The B&W works well in this setting. A powerful timeless shot. Also like the softness of this which works well to further enhance the melancholic feeling... Nicely done ;)

Dim and gloomy, that is what a rain does and this photo captured it. i like the song supplementing this picture.

Thank you for your comments on my photo on the, "Rain Forest".

Well if you hadn't been on a boat on the Mekong you wouldn't have had the perfect viewpoint for this excellent daily life shot. The close proximity of the building shows just how high the Mekong gets in the wet season. Very good toning.

Sepia and Vietnam. Why do they go so well together? If you think about it, Vietnam photos are maybe the ones that REALLY had the biggest impact on many of us. Wasnt Vietnam the first widely photographed war? Not only photographed but telvised. And b/w and sepia were the dominant mediums. So its natural to put the two together. And I must say this has SUCH a powerfully 1970s Virtnamese feel. Its a wonderful retro shot Paolo. Really good.

Hi Paolo.
Interesting photo.
Good usage of the Sepia for the rain mood, what is really strange here and I can not take my eyes of it is the antenna. :))

Beautiful daily life photo, Paolo. The composition and the timing is perfect. Excellent choice of b&w to give us a special atmosphere. Thanks for sharing this beauty and also for sharing the lyrics of a wonderful song.

Hi Paolo
This is a great shot. I love the atmosphere created by the monochrome tones. The composition is great too, with the everyday scene well captured. Good shot indeed.
